Cleveland artist wanted in Atlanta murder investigation
Atlanta Police have identified the suspect in a murder investigation as 23-year-old Qamar Williams, better known as artist Q-Money.
According to the Atlanta Journal- Constitution, Williams is wanted in connected with a fatal shooting that occurred Monday morning at a home in the 3500 block of Lehigh Way.
It is reported that a witness saw Williams standing over the victim’s body. Williams had his firearm taken from him and was forced out of the home by the witness and the victim’s cousin.
Williams rose to fame after videos of him dancing to his music went viral in 2016. Since his dancing days, Williams went on to signed with Warner Brothers Records in June 2018.
He continued to rise to stardom with hits "Work" and "Countin' up a Check." The Cleveland native released a remix for his song "Neat" last month with features from industry heavy hitters Young Dolph, YFN Lucci and Peewee Longway. The song has garnered more than on 1.5 million views on YouTube.
Q-Money most recently pitched himself to fans and influencers for a spot in XXL's 2019 Freshman Class.
The AJC is reporting that Williams may have known the victim from his time living in Ohio.
